BND declares as main values and stands for the fairness and superiority of the Law, individual freedom and personal and social responsibility, equal opportunities for everyone, tolerance, national identity and united Europe.
BND defines as one of its main goals the determination to become a party of the regions, which will work towards eliminating the existing disparity between different areas of the country in the quality of living – health care, education, social services, infrastructure, job opportunities and others.
The BULGARIAN NEW DEMOCRACY Chair is Nikolay Svinarov, MPs Lidya Shuleva, Borislav Velikov and the lawyer and Deputy Chair of the “Prista Oil” Managing Board, Hristo Savchev are his deputies. Boyko Boykov is the BND Organization Secretary.
The party’s governing body is the Council of Regions, which leads the party between Congresses and determines the BND regional policies. The Central Operational Council is the operational body and includes 17 members, headed by the party’s Chair. The Control Council is the controlling body and includes 5 individuals, elected by the party’s Congress, lead by Atanas Shterev.
BULGARIAN NEW DEMOCRACY has its own parliamentary group in the 40th Parliament of the Republic of Bulgaria. The group was founded on December 5, 2007 by 14 MPs, while three other MPs joined later. With 17 MPs, the BND parliamentary group is the largest opposition group in the Parliament. The MP and member of the party’s Central Executive Council, Borislav Ralchev, is the Chair of BND’s parliamentary group. The Deputy Chairs are Valentin Miltenov and Tatyana Kalkanova.
